Tending to Soul

Find the Courage to Flourish

Don’t ask what the world needs.

Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.

Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

~Howard Thurman

This monthly, drop-in, mini-retreat is for anyone wanting to listen more deeply for the authentic and genuine within themselves and to find the courage to flourish in every season, even in the midst of challenge. Tending to Soul offers time and space to take a deep breath, to make space for the soul to show up and to listen to its wisdom for us in our living. These gatherings are designed to help you hear more clearly what is going on inside of you, especially in chaotic times, and to find a way through that is guided by your most authentic self.

If you are looking to reconnect with your soul and your sense of purpose; if you long for space to reflect on important questions for your life and work; if you are discerning what is next for you as a leader in your community or your family; if you feel you’re at a crossroads; if you want to feel a clearer sense of your integrity in living an undivided and authentic life, making a difference in the world, then Tending to Soul is the gathering for you!

Rooted in the Courage & Renewal® approach developed by Quaker writer and teacher, Parker Palmer, and formed by the work of the Center for Courage & Renewal, Tending to Soul is for anybody who wants to follow the leading and wisdom of their heart and soul in these challenging times, personally and professionally. Tending to Soul will support participants to:

More About these Mini-Retreat Gatherings

Give yourself the gift of protected time to reflect on your values, to listen to your own inner wisdom and the wisdom of others.  This mini-retreat gives you the space to begin to pursue deeper integrity, wholeness, and alignment in your personal and professional life.

Tending to Soul is grounded in the following principles

  • That each one of us seeks wholeness and meaning.
  • In our quest for wholeness and meaning we require reflection and inquiry.
  • And that reflection and inquiry require both the privacy of solitude and the comfort and challenge of community.
  • Together, solitude and community create the conditions where each one of us can access our inner wisdom and strength to guide us forward with integrity and grace.

Practices we’ll engage in

  • Multiple modes of stimulating reflection that may include images, poetry, visualization or music.
  • Time for quiet, individual reflection.
  • Community support through paired, small group and whole group conversations.

These principles and practices are inspired by the work of The Center for Courage & Renewal.  Supportive guidelines will promote trustworthy, confidential space.

Facilitator:
