What is it?

Something you have always wanted to do?
If so….
The Rosedale United Church Millennium Youth Award might be for you. Its purpose is to provide an annual financial gift to a deserving young person of any faith wishing to pursue an activity of personal development that is consistent with the mission statement of Rosedale United Church (see next page).

Are you eligible?
- Applicants must be between 17-25 years of age.
- Applicants must have a Sponsor.
- Applicants must be affiliated with one of the organizations on our Eligible List.
- This Award is not limited to persons of anyone faith group
Selection Criteria
The Award is designed to help a young person, assisted by a sponsor, to fulfill a dream or goal. Some of the criteria that the committee will apply in selecting the winner include:
ü Will the Award make a big difference to the applicant in whether they successfully achieve their goal?
ü Does the applicant have access to other sources of funding or income to support their dream?
ü How much will achieving the dram really make a difference in the individual’s life or in other’s lives?
Notification of Winner
The winner will be announced on or about June 25, 2011. Applicants may be requested to meet with members of the committee for an interview.
What is the value of the Award?
The value of the Rosedale United Church Millennium Award is determined annually and amounts will vary, depending on the size of the fund each year. For 2009, the value of the award will be $1,000.00 renewable for up to three further years.
What is a Sponsor
- Your Sponsor is most likely someone from an “Eligible List” organization.
- Your Sponsor can be a social worker, teacher, counselor, or minister.
- Your Sponsor helps you complete your application and fills out the Sponsor section of the form.
