Doug Norris – Team Leader

Rev Doug Norris

Rev Doug Norris

Let me introduce myself.

After degrees from the University of Toronto (Theology at Emmanuel College and University of Edinburgh), I have come to Rosedale in 2001 after ministries in Muskoka, rural Quebec, and Guelph, ordained since 1986.

I am pleased to be working with the fine team of staff and members here – it is an active and engaged congregation, with strong lay leadership, ready to explore what life as a people of God will look like in the years to come. My specific work here focuses on supporting the other members of the team, leading the design and delivery of our worship services, offering pastoral care, adult education, and involvement in many of our outreach and community ministries. It is good work and a privilege to be here.

While happy to be in a neighbourhood church serving the local congregation, I am also proud to be in the United Church of Canada, and have played various roles in our national church, as a General Council commissioner, a Presbytery Chair, as a member of the Roman Catholic dialogue team, and a member of the Victoria University/Emmanuel College Senate and Council. As a Church we have a tradition of prophetic and risky public conversation, and along with our trademark ‘open-ness’, a robust theology that will keep us faithful and effective.

I will look forward to meeting you ! Please don’t hesitate to call for any support or conversation.

Keeping the faith,

Doug Norris
